Back in July, I posted some ideas to get everyone thinking about the holiday gift giving season (See the post here). I hope you got started since it is now Thanksgiving which only leaves a week until Hanukkah and three weeks until Christmas. With that in mind, here is a round-up of some quick and easy gift ideas.
The other day, we had the first person to compete in our Sewing Challenge bring in her project. One of our sewing students, an amazing 14 year old, “L”, made this incredible bag. She has been sewing with us for a while but has been sewing even longer on her own. We waited 4 months and finally Madelinetosh is in! We have so many new colors, variations of colors, and new colorways. You will love Madelinetosh yarn. Did you know that September is National Sewing Month? Way back in 1982, President Reagan issued a proclamation declaring September to be National Sewing Month “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.” (Proclamation #4576)
Woolstock is celebrating by hosting a Two Fabric Sewing Challenge!! Everyone who plays earns a free pattern (retail value up to $10, one per customer)
Here are the rules:
- You must purchase at least 2 different fabrics between September 1-30, 2015.
- Yardage needs to be at least 1 yard each to count.
- Pre-cut packs or jelly rolls count as 1 fabric.
- Both fabrics must be used in the project.
- Project must be completed and brought into the shop on or before Sept. 30, 2015.
- Challenge is open to only local customers- sorry no web or mail customers.

Do you know what happening Saturday? It is International Knit in Public Day!! I am so excited about this because it is always fun to hang out with a bunch of other knitters and show the world we knit. Here are Woolstock we have plans- great plans! We are going to have some munchies (and we are across the street from the wine store) and some undercover outdoor seating. There will be discounts and it will be fun to see what others are knitting.
