All The New Samples!!

It is a great time of year at Woolstock.  Everyone is busy making samples for the knitting side.  We have so many new things to show you!!

So let’s take a tour-

First stop: Midori from the Kibou Book.  We made ours from 4 balls of Kibou.  This top stops traffic! Between the subtle color changes and the interesting diagonal design, the top has caused quite a stir in the shop.  Judging by how many people have bought the pattern and yarn since we put up the sample, I expect to see numerous customers sporting this lovely tunic this fall.

Next stop: Cool Hemp Ponchette from Lanaknits on Ravelry.  We used 4 balls of Hempathy.  This is such a cute little shawl.  Not only is it so easy to make up, the pattern is easy to adapt to your needs. Sally made the medium/large size but made 34 sections to create the look she liked.

Number 3: This is the Summer Pure Linen Top, a Pattern by Leslye, made from Rowan Pure Linen. This classic linen is just wonderful.  It feels a little stiff when you first start working with it, but after it is blocked, it has the most fantastic drape. This is a great pattern for the new lace knitter because there is just a front and a back.  The cap sleeves are a part of the shape of the front and back.   The two slits in the side add even more style to this easy to wear and cool summer top.

Number 4: The Boilermaker Cowl made from 3 different colorways of beautiful Madelinetosh DK (this will make 2 small cowls).  With the 3 different colorways, this pattern can be switched around so that even though they are made from the same pattern, each cowl is very different.  Plus it is like getting two for the price of one.

And the last stop is Noro #5 on page 55 made from 5 balls of Silk Garden Sock Yarn. I love this poncho since it can be made out of any kind of sock yarn.  If you use one with short color changes you get interesting pooling or long color changes gives you the lovely stripes you see in our sample.

We still have more samples on the needles, so check back and I’ll show you more wonderful examples of patterns!!
